When it comes to things to do on a vacation in the Dominican Republic, deep-sea fishing tops the list. Las Galeras is only two miles from a 1700 foot drop into the Puerto Rico Trench making it the best Sport Fishing in the Dominican Republic. Our waters are some of the clearest in the West Indies, creating more than ideal conditions for an excursion and our shallow water fish are said to be the pound-for-pound best fighters of all fish.

A variety of fish including Dorado (Mahi Mahi), Yellow Fin Tuna, Red Snapper, Yellow Tail Snapper, Grouper, Tarpon, Bone Fish, and Permit are available all year round. December until April is the main season for Dorado and Wahoo. They stay all year, just in less quantity out of season. November to January is the prime time for Sailfish. Blue Marlin and Sailfish are available from October until February.

Casa Dorado offers fishing excursions for the experienced and novice fishermen in our 28' Sport Fishing boat and a Yamaha 22-footer panga. We use Shimano and Penn combo rod/reels and a variety of lures from Yozui. Full and half-day outings are available from Captain Roberto Guzman.
